Women's transitions

Support during the transition

to the menopause

and other life stages for women

✨ For women going through periods of transition: the menopause, parenthood, life changes, changes in relationships or careers,

I offer natural, mindful support to help you navigate these major transitions with gentleness, alignment and clarity, so that every choice stems from a sense of wholeness, and every step is fully embraced and validated.

Let go of the idea that the menopause, motherhood and adolescence are illnesses, and fully embrace the transformation of the current stage; integrate your whole being into every transition; deprogram limiting patterns; and reprogram the connections that support change.

BEING IN THE MENOPAUSE DOES NOT MEAN BEING ILL!

Some figures:

  • Currently, more than one billion women worldwide are experiencing perimenopause, menopause, or postmenopause.

  • 80% of women experience symptoms during this period

  • 23 symptoms may be associated with this transitional period (though they are not illnesses, they are often treated as such)

  • Menopause lasts for between 5 and 15 years.

  • For most women, the process begins between the ages of 45 and 55.

  • Menopause encompasses pre-menopause, menopause (a woman is said to be post-menopausal once she has gone a year without a period) and post-menopause.

Menopause in our Western society:

As a Western woman myself, I approached the menopause with a sense of calm; the end of my cycle felt more like a liberation than a major upheaval. Having been a naturopath for many years, I thought this natural stage of my life would unfold smoothly…

That was without taking into account the very nature of this paradigm shift in a woman’s life.

It was precisely because I found myself experiencing a whole host of symptoms—each more bewildering, sudden and unexpected than the last—that I really began to delve into the subject I was going through.

I was completely blown away by my research and became passionate about the subject, studying it for five years and choosing to navigate this phase without medication, consciously and by experimenting with alternative methods.

My studies led me to understand that the menopause has much more to do with societal factors than with physiology. Our Western society has not made a comfortable place for menopausal women, leaving them with a difficult choice between being a ‘cougar’ or a ‘grandmother’…. Fair enough, but if we don’t want to become either, what is left for us?

SYMPTOMS…

Every period of transition in a woman’s life involves our hormonal system, our emotions, our culture, and our strengths and weaknesses.

Supporting these transitions to enable choices, directions and creations that make sense of the whole of who you are is a passion of mine.
